Reiki One Hour Treatment

Reiki is a treatment for all ages and can benefit people in many ways with both physical and emotional conditions.

All livings things are made up of energy - you, me, animals and even plants. Energy has no boundaries - it just flows and in this way we are all intrinsically linked. Imagine that, all of us connected and not nearly as isolated as you may think!

As humans we sometimes experience things we don't want to such as trauma or shock. This can affect the flow of energy round our bodies and result in energy blockages and stagnant or negative energy which can make us poorly or over time even seriously ill. Have you ever been stressed and experienced headaches or interrupted sleep? This is just one example of how an emotional upset can affect the physical body.

The treatment usually last for one hour with the person lying fully clothed and comfortable on a Reiki table supported by pillows and blanket etc. listening to relaxing music. I explain fully what the treatment consists of and carry out a full consultation to assess the requirements of the individual beforehand.

Reiki is simply positive energy channeled through the Practitioner's hands who places them in set positions gently on the recipient's body. Reiki healing can be quite a concept to grasp as there are no needles or intrusive devices involved so how does it work? Reiki is the transference of positive healing energy into the recipient to kick start the body's own healing process. Simple and effective!

People report a variety of experiences during the treatment and these include feelings of real peace and calm. Many will feel intense heat or cold from my hands and some that they feel both hot and cold from each hand at the same time but it is not unpleasant. Some people experience none of the above, however, this does not mean that the Reiki is not working.

Reiki will aim to help by treating the person as a whole rather that the just the problem itself, that is by looking at the cause rather than just the symptoms. Reiki works alongside conventional medicine and does not take the place of it. You should always consult your General Practitioner for any ailment that is worrying you.

Most people will tell me that they find their treatments deeply relaxing and report psychological uplift and a general feeling of well being and revitalisation! Regular Reiki treatments are recommended, however the frequency of the treatments depends on the seriousness of the condition concerned and how you, yourself feel are improving.

Crystals

I tend to use crystals as part of the treatment sessions as they can enhance the Reiki treatment as I am naturally drawn to them. Crystals are very powerful and each type of crystal has its own allure and use. Depending on the nature of the problem we are aiming to alleviate, we can choose an appropriate crystal or crystals to help.

We can use crystals by laying them on the body in certain positions or simply by holding them.

Oils

A selection of relaxing oils and creams can be used directly onto the skin to enhance the massage and benefit the skin. Oils may also be used in the hair, if desired, which strengthens it and improves dryness and can also soften the skin of the scalp promoting hair growth and making the hair soft and shiny!

However, this massage can be performed over clothing which is less intrusive than other forms of massage.
